Introduce 'AOWANDA'
Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area lies in Ren-ai township of Nantou County in central Taiwan. ANFRA covers about 2,787 hectares and lies at 1,100 to 2,600 metres above sea level . The area has recorded 120 species of 32 bird families to date. Of the 15 endemic bird species in Taiwan, 10 are found in this district, including protected birds such as Swinhoe¡¦s Pheasant, Taiwan Partridge, Yellow Tit, etc. It can be said that ANFRA is legendary as a birding area in central Taiwan. This area is known as the homeland of the maple leaf. ANFRA is the best and most famous place to appreciate maple leaves in Taiwan. The maple area in ANFRA is composed mainly of Liquidambar formosana Hance and it¡¦s the largest pure stand of Formosa Sweet Gum. The peak time to appreciate the maple leaves is from November to February.
