How to reach Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area?
From Taipei to Aowanda by car requires approximately five to six hours. Take Highway # 3 and take the overpass from Tsu-twen to Route 14 in the direction of Pu-li. Then follow directions to Wu-shr. Before entering Wu-shr, turn right onto Route 83. The road is quite narrow; drive carefully. Finally, you will get to Aowanda.
Setting out from Taichung, take Chun-tow highway to Tsu-twen, Route 14 to Pu-li, and then take Pu-wu road to Wu-shr. Finally, follow Route 83 to Aowanda. But do remember Route 83 is small and narrow, please drive with care. The journey from Taichung to Aowanda is about two hours and 40 minutes.
